What is the IRIScan Desk Pro, and what can it scan?

The IRIScan Desk Pro is an overhead document camera and book scanner intended for loose pages, magazines, books, photos and objects. Official store – IRIScan Desk Business The listing also says it can scan loose pages, magazines and entire books. Amazon.com: IRIScan Desk Pro 18MP 4K Book and… Its software offers document, book, barcode, business-card, identity-document and video modes. Amazon.com: IRIScan Desk Pro 18MP 4K Book and…

The manufacturer reports scanning books, magazines and A4- or letter-size documents at up to one page per second. IRIScan Desk | Revolutionary book and… A separate Amazon listing statement says two pages per second, but that figure is attributed to the reviewer rather than a verified test, so I wouldn’t treat it as established performance. Amazon.com: IRIScan Desk Pro 18MP 4K Book and… The available sources don’t establish the book sizes or thicknesses the scanner can handle. They also don’t provide a tested scan-speed result. The mode list gives a useful picture of intended tasks, but it doesn’t tell buyers how the device performs with a particular binding, page stock or object.

What are the IRIScan Desk Pro’s resolution, frame rate and video specifications?

The manufacturer reports an 18MP CMOS sensor and optical resolution of × pixels for the IRIScan Desk Pro. IRIScan Desk | Revolutionary book and… The Amazon listing separately describes the native maximum resolution as 18MP. Amazon.com: IRIScan Desk Pro 18MP 4K Book and… Those figures align on the megapixel count, but the available claims don’t provide one fully consistent resolution specification: the listed pixel dimensions differ between sources.

For video, the manufacturer reports 4K at fps and video at fps. Document and books scanners – IRIS Official… These are video specifications, not evidence of page-scanning speed. The separate scanning-rate claim is up to one page per second from the manufacturer, while the listing’s two-pages-per-second statement is reviewer-attributed rather than a verified test. IRIScan Desk | Revolutionary book and… Amazon.com: IRIScan Desk Pro 18MP 4K Book and… Buyers should therefore keep the still-image resolution, video frame rates and page-per-second claims distinct. The available sources don’t establish measured image quality or independently verify the advertised figures.

How do auto-flattening and finger removal work on bound books?

The IRIScan Desk Pro software is described as using AI for book-curve flattening, finger removal, and automatic page and page-turn detection. IRIScan Desk | Revolutionary book and… The Amazon listing says that fingers in the camera frame during book scanning are removed when the image is saved. Amazon.com: IRIScan Desk Pro 18MP 4K Book and… These are feature claims; the available sources don’t provide independent test results or promise that every page will be corrected perfectly.

For positioning, the reviewer recommends placing the book on the black mat with an even black border around it to help the software straighten curved pages. Amazon.com: IRIScan Desk Pro 18MP 4K Book and… That is a specific piece of setup advice, not a complete explanation of the processing. The sources don’t describe the limits of the AI, how results change with different books, or what happens with difficult page curves. Buyers should treat flattening and finger erasure as advertised assistance, not a guarantee of a particular output. The kit’s black mat is listed as an included item. Amazon.com: IRIScan Desk Pro 18MP 4K Book and…

Which formats, OCR languages and export destinations are supported?

The listed document output formats are JPG, PDF, searchable PDF, PDF-A and Office formats. IRIScan Desk | Revolutionary book and… The source names Office formats but doesn’t specify every supported Office file extension. The software is reported to support OCR languages. IRIScan Desk | Revolutionary book and…

Video export is listed separately as AVI, MPEG, FLV and WMV. IRIScan Desk | Revolutionary book and… Those are video file formats, not cloud or delivery destinations. The listed destinations are Local Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive and Email. Official store – IRIScan Desk Business That distinction matters: a supported file type describes how an output is saved, while a destination describes where it can be sent. The available information doesn’t detail the exact workflow for each destination or identify any additional format-specific restrictions. For buyers choosing the scanner around a particular office document type, the sources support the general Office-format claim but don’t establish which extensions are available.

Is the IRIScan Desk Pro compatible with Windows and macOS, and what connections does it use?

The IRIScan Desk Pro is listed as compatible with Windows and and macOS 10.15 and above. Official store – IRIScan Desk Pro A second manufacturer listing gives the same operating-system compatibility. Official store – IRIScan Desk Business These claims identify supported operating systems, but the available ledger doesn’t specify the scanner’s connection type.

That leaves an important setup detail unanswered: buyers can’t confirm the required port, cable or connection method from the grounded compatibility claims. I wouldn’t infer those details from the product name or other listing material. The sources also don’t set out computer hardware requirements beyond the operating-system information recorded here. Anyone whose computer setup depends on a particular connector should verify that detail from a source that explicitly documents the connection before choosing the scanner. Compatibility with an operating system alone doesn’t establish how the device connects or what accessories are needed.

How much does the IRIScan Desk Pro cost, and what comes in the box?

The Amazon listing gives the IRIScan Desk Pro a price of $299 and a listed price of $299.00. IRIScan Desk Pro 18MP 4K Book and Document… A separate source reported a price of euros at the time of its report; that is a separate reported price, not the current Amazon price. Amazon.com: IRIScan Desk Pro 18MP 4K Book and…

The documented kit contents are a vertical scanner with lighting, a black mat, a manual switch, a foot pedal and scanning software. Amazon.com: IRIScan Desk Pro 18MP 4K Book and… The available claims don’t establish the exact edition of the included software or whether other accessories are included. The product name mentions Readiris PDF, but the documented kit-content claim only says scanning software, so the exact included software edition remains unclear. Buyers can use the item list as a baseline, but should not assume unlisted accessories or software details are confirmed. The listed price and box contents also don’t establish any additional costs.

How does the IRIScan Desk Pro compare with the IRIScan Desk 6?

The available matched comparison between the IRIScan Desk Pro and the IRIScan Desk is limited to OCR-language support: the Desk Pro is listed at languages, while the Desk is listed at 128. IRIScan Desk | Revolutionary book and… Compare – Hardware – IRIScan Desk That gives buyers one concrete point of difference, but it doesn’t establish how the models compare across their broader feature sets.

The ledger provides no other matched Desk specifications, so a fuller comparison of resolution, video frame rate, connections or scanning features isn’t supported here. I wouldn’t use the OCR-language figures to infer overall performance or value. Buyers focused on a feature-by-feature decision should seek specifications that compare the same attributes for both models. The available information supports the language-count comparison and no more; it doesn’t provide enough matched evidence to say which scanner is better for a particular book, document workflow or computer setup.

How do you set up the IRIScan Desk Pro and scan a book or document?

The documented positioning advice for the IRIScan Desk Pro is to place a book on the black mat with an even black border around it, which is intended to help the software straighten curved pages. Amazon.com: IRIScan Desk Pro 18MP 4K Book and… The black mat is listed among the kit contents. Amazon.com: IRIScan Desk Pro 18MP 4K Book and…

The software’s listed modes include document, book, barcode, business-card, identity-document and video. Amazon.com: IRIScan Desk Pro 18MP 4K Book and… Those modes identify the available task categories, but the sources don’t give a complete sequence for choosing a mode, capturing pages or saving a finished file. They also don’t provide detailed installation, connection, calibration or step-by-step scanning instructions. Because the connection type is unavailable in the grounded claims, I can’t supply a confirmed cable or port setup. The even-border recommendation is the specific setup guidance available here; other operational steps should not be assumed from it.
