That mix makes its stated role broader than scanning loose sheets alone: the overhead format is intended to handle bound pages as well as individual documents.

The manufacturer and Amazon listing focus on A4 documents, and the listing explicitly says the scanner is not designed for A3 Amazon.com: IRIScan Desk 8MP A4 Book and… Document and books scanners – IRIS Official…. One review source describes A3-sized materials as scannable, which conflicts with those A4-focused specifications The best book scanner | Digital Camera World. I’d treat the manufacturer and listing limits as the safer guide for a purchase decision, rather than assume A3 document support from the conflicting review statement. The available sources don’t establish how any A3-sized material would be captured or what result to expect.

What are the IRIScan Desk 6’s resolution, maximum size, and file formats?

The manufacturer lists an 8.0-megapixel CMOS sensor and a MP extrapolated resolution; those are distinct figures, not two independently verified sensor measurements IRIScan Desk – Official store. It specifies DPI output and a maximum document size of × mm, identified as A4 or letter size IRIScan Desk – Official store.

For corrections after capture, the Book Page Editor allows page-by-page reworking, especially cropping IRIScan Desk – How to scan a Book – IRIS…. That gives users a stated way to adjust individual pages, but the sources don’t quantify how accurately flattening, finger removal, or skew correction works across different books. Buyers should view these capabilities as software features described by the sources, not as a guarantee of a particular scan result.

Which OCR languages and exports does it support, and does it work with Windows and macOS?

The product page specifies OCR support for languages, while the Amazon listing describes support as more than IRIScan Desk | Versatile book and document… Amazon.com: IRIScan Desk 8MP A4 Book and…. The difference is in how the sources phrase the count; the ledger doesn’t resolve whether the listing’s higher wording reflects additional languages.

Listed exports cover JPG, PDF, searchable PDF, Word, Excel, and TXT, as well as EPUB, MP3, and WAV Amazon.com: IRIScan Desk 8MP A4 Book and… IRIScan Desk | Versatile book and document…. The available specifications name document, ebook, and audio formats, but don’t establish how well OCR performs for any particular language or export type.

The manufacturer’s compatibility list names Windows and and macOS 10.15 and above IRIScan Desk – Official store. However, a review source says the software lacks Mac compatibility, contradicting the manufacturer and Amazon compatibility claims The best book scanner | Digital Camera World Amazon.com: IRIScan Desk 8MP A4 Book and…. If macOS support is essential, verify compatibility against the supplied documentation before relying on either claim; the sources provided here don’t explain the discrepancy.

The Amazon listing shows a price of $149, while the manufacturer lists $129, reduced from $199 IRIScan Desk 8MP A4 Book and Document Scanner… IRIScan Desk – Official store. Those prices come from different sources, and the available evidence doesn’t establish which price will apply to a shopper.

The manufacturer’s documented physical box contents are a scanner camera, USB cable, scan pad, and Getting Started Guide IRIScan Desk – Official store. Readiris PDF appears in the Amazon product name, but it isn’t included in that manufacturer list of physical box contents IRIScan Desk 8MP A4 Book and Document Scanner… IRIScan Desk – Official store. The Amazon listing gives the product a customer rating of 3.4 out of stars IRIScan Desk 8MP A4 Book and Document Scanner…. A review source reports that the Desk is USB-powered The best book scanner | Digital Camera World. The evidence provided doesn’t establish additional setup steps, such as a complete installation sequence, so I wouldn’t infer them here. The listed workflow is therefore best read as the documented book-capture and export process, rather than a full guide to installing or configuring the software.

What are the Desk 6’s limitations compared with a flatbed scanner or the IRIScan Desk 7?

The IRIScan Desk is specified for documents up to A4 or letter size, and the Amazon listing says it isn’t designed for A3 Amazon.com: IRIScan Desk 8MP A4 Book and… IRIScan Desk – Official store. That makes it a poor fit for buyers who require documented support for A3-sized documents. A review source says A3-sized materials can be scanned, but that conflicts with the manufacturer and Amazon descriptions Amazon.com: IRIScan Desk 8MP A4 Book and… The best book scanner | Digital Camera World.

The product is described as an overhead document and book scanner IRIScan Desk – Official store IRIScan Desk | Versatile book and document…. The available claims provide no flatbed scanner specifications, so they don’t support a direct performance comparison between this design and a flatbed model. Likewise, there are no Desk specifications in the evidence here, so a feature-by-feature comparison with the IRIScan Desk can’t be substantiated.

Mac compatibility is another point to check: the manufacturer lists macOS 10.15 and above, but a review source reports that the software lacks Mac compatibility IRIScan Desk – Official store The best book scanner | Digital Camera World. Buyers who depend on Mac software should verify the documentation before purchase.

What do buyers say about the IRIScan Desk 8MP?

The Amazon listing shows a customer rating of 3.4 out of stars IRIScan Desk 8MP A4 Book and Document Scanner…. That rating is a summary of buyer feedback, not a technical measurement or proof of scanning performance. The available evidence doesn’t include the underlying buyer reviews, so it doesn’t show which features reviewers praised or criticized, or whether their experiences concerned software, book scanning, OCR, or another aspect.

For shoppers weighing the rating, the most useful evidence available here is the product specification and the limits or conflicts identified in the sources: the A4-focused design, differing camera figures, and inconsistent Mac-compatibility reports Amazon.com: IRIScan Desk 8MP A4 Book and… IRIScan Desk – Official store The best book scanner | Digital Camera World. Those facts help frame purchase questions, but they can’t explain the rating itself. I can’t infer a pattern in buyer complaints or satisfaction from a single rating figure without review details.
